I am honored to represent our incredible students, school staff and community on the school board, and look forward to continued service as I run for the upcoming term.
I am honored to represent our incredible students, school staff and community on the school board, and look forward to continued service as I run for the upcoming term. The school district has achieved extraordinary progress over the last several years. We began planning for the K-8 initiative, a forward-looking concept that embraces the input of teachers, parents, students and community stakeholders over a meticulous, multi-year period. Graduation rates are improving. We are upgrading facilities for our student athletes. Our administration and teachers ceaselessly strive to meet the demands of struggling students, especially our growing special needs and English Learner populations. Our Career & Technical Education program is thriving, providing students with experience and skills for the 21st century. We added yet more academically rigorous courses to engage and challenge students. Parent, teacher and community satisfaction is high, as reflected in a broad survey conducted this past year. We have much to celebrate, and more to accomplish! In my next term, I will persist in finding effective ways to reach at-risk students to further raise graduation rates and test scores. The K-8 project will come to fruition, a process requiring consistent communication, detailed planning and ongoing coordination with and input from stakeholders. I will promote authentic and relevant K-12 career awareness and preparation experiences for all students so each graduate walks confidently across the stage with a viable next step. As always, I work with fellow board members and administrators to ensure we responsibly employ taxpayer dollars in the most effective manner. The Carlisle School District is a vibrant gem in our region with outstanding teachers and leadership – all laser-focused on the success of our students. I am excited for the opportunity to further serve and ask for your vote in the May 20 primary elections.
