Strong schools and fair courts go hand in hand. Both are essential to a thriving democracy and a bright future for Pennsylvania’s students. On Nov. 4, let’s move Carlisle forward — vote for Bower, Lauritzen, Brousse and Rudy, and vote "yes" on judicial retention.

As a proud resident of Carlisle Borough, a military retiree’s spouse and a mother of two elementary students in the Carlisle Area School District, I am deeply invested in our community and our children’s education.

Looking ahead, I will continue prioritizing the safety and security of every student and staff member. I remain committed to guiding the successful implementation of the K-8 initiative, supporting at-risk students to improve graduation rates and academic performance and expanding career readiness opportunities so that every graduate walks across the stage with confidence and a clear path forward.

As I continue my campaign for Carlisle Area School Board, I’ve had the privilege of talking with more members of our community each week. These conversations have been inspiring, whether it’s hearing positive experiences with our schools, celebrating the pride our community has in its students or discussing thoughtful questions and areas where we can improve.

As a parent of two boys in the Carlisle Area School District — one of whom faces hearing challenges — I’ve experienced firsthand how vital it is for schools to listen to families, support teachers and make every child feel seen and valued.

Group warns proposal would gut Carlisle schools and strip local control from parents and taxpayers

I am excited about the future of our district and grateful for the opportunity to help shape it. I would appreciate your vote on May 20.

Carlisle is my home, and I care deeply about its future. I believe in public education and in the power of collaboration to meet challenges head-on. I’m not running to push an agenda, I’m running to listen, learn and lead responsibly.

I’m committed to being present, mindful, listening to your concerns, and making decisions serving the greater good of our district.

I am honored to represent our incredible students, school staff and community on the school board, and look forward to continued service as I run for the upcoming term.

They will keep our school district focused on student educational needs, respecting parents and teachers, and working with the broader community to assure our children have access to high quality public education.

These candidates are completely apolitical, they put students first and support the initiatives that the administration is presently undertaking, including more students opportunities to succeed.

To continue Carlisle’s constructive governance, we should elect the nonpartisan slate of: Sue Bower, Stephen Brousse, Anne Lauritzen and Amanda Rudy in the May 20 Democratic and Republican primary. They will act with experience, integrity and respect for all.

My name is Stephen Brousse. I’m a 2004 graduate of Carlisle High School and a proud member of our community. As a father with a daughter at Mooreland Elementary and another joining next year, I am deeply invested in the success and well-being of our schools. I am running for school board to bring a fresh perspective — one that prioritizes students, respects parents and teachers, makes responsible financial decisions, and unites our community in support of quality education.

My name is Anne Lauritzen, and I am running for Carlisle Area School Board. A resident of Dickinson Township, I’m the proud mom of two CASD graduates, an active duty military veteran and a career development advocate who works with hundreds of local high school students throughout central PA.

My name is Sue Bower, and I am writing to introduce myself as a candidate for the Carlisle Area School Board. As a proud parent, not a politician, my primary focus is always putting our students first. I am passionate about advocating for our children’s success and believe the key to improving education lies in fostering strong, collaborative partnerships between parents, teachers and the Carlisle community.
