Letter: Seeking re-election

Anne Lauritzen | The Sentinel

Oct 10, 2025

Looking ahead, I will continue prioritizing the safety and security of every student and staff member. I remain committed to guiding the successful implementation of the K-8 initiative, supporting at-risk students to improve graduation rates and academic performance and expanding career readiness opportunities so that every graduate walks across the stage with confidence and a clear path forward.

It has been an honor to serve on the Carlisle Area School Board, representing our outstanding students, dedicated staff and engaged community. As I seek re-election, I remain committed to building on our progress - and tackling the important work still ahead.

One of the most significant initiatives on the horizon is the launch of the K-8 realignment. Under this plan, the district will transition to five K–third grade schools, two fourth–sixth grade schools, and a new seventh–eighth grade building. This thoughtful restructuring will better align resources, improve class sizes and support student growth and development across all levels. As part of this transition, our oldest two elementary schools will close, and these changes require us to be mindful of the impact on the families and neighborhoods around these schools. The board must ensure a transparent process and create a plan for these buildings that reflects community needs and demonstrates responsible use of taxpayer dollars.

Throughout all of this work, I remain focused on using taxpayer dollars wisely and communicating openly with our community.

The Carlisle Area School District is one of our region’s greatest assets—thanks to amazing students, passionate educators, strong leadership and a community united around student success. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited about what lies ahead, and I respectfully ask for your vote on Nov. 4.
